Discover Betty's Kitchen

Tucked along 116 W Academy St A in the small town of Randleman, Betty's Kitchen feels like stepping into someone’s warm country home rather than just another roadside diner. The first thing that hits you is the aroma—freshly baked biscuits mingling with the scent of sizzling bacon. Locals wander in with the ease of people who know the staff by name, and that’s part of what makes this place special. It’s not just about the food on the menu, though that’s plenty enough to keep people coming back. It’s the way the servers remember how you like your coffee or slide an extra dollop of whipped cream onto your pancakes when they notice you had a rough morning.

The menu itself is a snapshot of Southern comfort—plates piled high with golden fried chicken, creamy mashed potatoes, and buttery cornbread that practically melts on your tongue. If you’re into breakfast, you’ll find fluffy omelets stuffed with cheese and ham, alongside stacks of pancakes dripping in maple syrup. There’s something grounding about eating here, like pausing life’s chaos just long enough to savor real, home-cooked food. A lot of travelers who stop by on their way down Highway 220 mention how the portions are generous without feeling heavy, which speaks to the balance this kitchen has nailed between hearty and wholesome.

What makes this spot stand out from other locations around Randolph County isn’t just its food but the trust it has earned over decades. Many of the cooks have been here for years, perfecting family recipes that date back generations. That kind of consistency shows up in the reviews, too, where regulars praise not only the taste but the integrity—clean kitchen, honest prices, and a team that actually listens when you mention allergies or preferences. Even on a packed Sunday brunch, there’s a sense of care in how every plate is carried out, as if they’re cooking for family. That commitment has turned this cozy diner into a quiet landmark, woven into the rhythm of daily life in Randleman.

  • Betty's Kitchen is a small local restaurant located in Randleman, NC. On this occasion I decided to treat myself to a delicious & filling breakfast because I had successfully completed an important mile stone goal concerning my property. I ordered a Ham & Cheese omelet with 1 hotcake (their hotcakes are very large) & coffee. The waitress are always very friendly & I received my order in about 10 minutes which was good as they were very busy. I've always found it pleasant, while waiting for my order to arrive, to observe the interactions of the many local patrons, as they all know eachother . My food arrived & was delicious as usual. The waitresses were very attentive & kept my coffee topped off. The only down side on this visit is that the $18 price + tip, has almost doubled since my last visit which is understandable under these inflationary times. I still recommend eating here.
